Thanks, gang... appreciate the nice words, FOP... they're much appreciated.

Like I was telling Crick earlier when we were chatting, I'm looking forward to easing the throttle back a bit... been a long season.

Congrats on a great buck Greg !! It's been a few years since I last trapped. My hand actually dry out when trapping and never had a problem with hunting. Water sets/ice sets are nasty on them. I hate wearing rubber gloves even for land sets but it is a must.

    Good luck trapping !!

A salesman complaining about "cracked fingers". LOL!

    Now I've heard everything.:D

Congrats on another buck Greg. Looks like a pretty good one.

Did you get him near the standing corn? Was he alone or dogging a doe in it? Just feeding?

Even though I'm done.. like to know these few details for the next year we have corn standing in LATE November.

Had enough of that standing corn bs!

    Thanks, Simon... much appreciated.

Yeah Mike, I was telling Buckeye on the phone today that I didn't want to sound like a .. well, you know ... but darnit, the cracks in my thumbs are DEEP by this time of year, LOL! Every time I think one of the cracks is about healed, it'll split wide open the next day. :D

Took a couple pics out in the field, but I was actually pretty deep back in the woods when I got this guy... found a series of scrapes bordered by a few rubs leading into some very thick stuff. I went in as deep and tight as I dared... actually jumped a doe out of her bed on the way in, but she bounded away in a direction that I wasn't too worried about as I pressed on in. This guy showed up after a very aggressive and loud rattling and calling session about an hour after daylight. The MX-3 left the biggest blood trail I'd ever seen so far until he piled up about 75 yards away.

Thought the "playa" was the expert on standing corn.;)

Nice deer Greg. Cool to hear that rattling still working this time of year.

If that's not a look of satisfaction on your face, I don't know what is. Congrats.

Very Nice Buck Greg! Congrats! You can tell me the story again at the ATA show..hopefully your hands will be healed enough for me to shake your hand and congratulate you in person.

I know how painful those cracked fingers can be as i get them every winter as well, but not from the scent free soaps. Just from washing my hands constantly due to the work I do.

When my fingers crack that bad I put Neosporin (or equivelent) on them and then cover with a bandaid. This helps them heal pretty fast and relieves the burning sensation.
