It happens every year; the ends of my thumbs especially from the fingernails on down crack and split wide open due to the lack of moisture from shower after shower with non-scented shampoo or perhaps something with a whiff of fresh-earth essence.

The green soap dries out my skin to the point it’s ready to flake off, and the first time I use real conditioner following another tough season my hair literally soaks in and absorbs close to half a family-sized value bottle.

Thank God I can order in samples of hand moisturizer I sell to hospital personnel, as it will take a full month of daily use to get my hands looking like they did before the start of October. Todd Pringnitz aptly entitled their last DVD “The Grind”, and most of us hard-core bowhunters can relate so well to that; as much as we love our sport and are so passionately consumed with it, it does become one near the end. That grind is both simultaneously sadly and thankfully over for this year, save perhaps a few trips out to the Double Bull blind nestled into the edge of some standing corn with my 6-year-old in tow to enjoy a few late evenings together with the hopes a carefree doe will wander too closely by. I have a lot of family chores to catch up on, and traps to set.

Did you just kill that and this is the oddest "harvest" post ever... Or is that an older photo?

Dan and I were speculating behind the scenes and came up with nothing :p

Sorry I got the WKP vids out of order... it's been a while since I've watched them.

Yes, the Grind is over. That was the point of the story.

Thanks, Crick... same general area. Couldn't swear to it that he's one of the ones I saw before since it's been some time now ... I was way deeper in the woods up against a swamp (I dragged him out to take this pic) 1/4 mile from where I had that encounter.

Didn't anyone else notice what bow laid across his chest? That should have given it away. Comon Scott. :p :D And besides, that's the newer, sleeker Greg in the photo. It couldn't be real old and a new 09 CP.

    Congratulations Greg.

Always look forward to your posts Greg. I too have hung up the bow in exchange for the video camera as my 9 year old daughter is going out Monday with the .243 in search of her buck in PA's mentor hunt. I took my buck on the 5th and have had traps out ever since. Keep those cracked fingers away from those trap jaws.
