Put my Moultrie M-80's back out last Sunday to take inventory on what I still have hanging around and to clue me into when they start dropping their antlers.
I put out a 40lb bag of corn in the corner of my food plot last Sunday. They found it pretty quick, and it was completely gone yesterday. I put another bag out so hopefully they will stick around. I'd really like to get those sheds.
For me I have watched deer and turkeys stand right in front of both my m80 cams and not take pics glad your's work. the blurry pics and slow trigger speeds on mine make them not worth setting out.
I see wall-e is selling for 30.00 less then when they started selling them around here,I think they must own a battery company or something because there has to be a way to offset the losses.
I guess I'm just lucky. 3 for 3 on quality M-80's. I've had the same batteries in them since early in archery season. They do burn through batteries in the plot watcher mode, but they take thousands of pics on a set of batteries. I have about a $100 max on trail cameras. That's all I'm willing to risk out in the woods.
skywalker have you tried to use the cam mount bolt in the back of the cam? it's sure not a size that on any cam i have seen.
No, but I've never used those mounts on any camera I've had, so It's not a huge deal w. me. You obviously aren't a fan of the these cameras, and that's fine. I'd love for you to point out the flaws in the pictures and videos I've posted that proves your point that these are not quality cameras?
[/QUOTE] If the cam was not set up so far away from the deer the cam would have missed this deer all together because of the slow trigger speeds of this cam. If the cam was closer to this trail it would have missed the deer totally. The cam is fine for a bait pile or scrape but not a trail unless you point it down the trail. And after you run the cam a few seasons you will see how many blurry pics and deer the ir flash affects the deer and or there patterns.. take it from me they will. Look around the web it's not just me. Look at some trail cam reviews sites this cam has been around awhile.

I didn't post the first picture because the rack is hard to see because of some trees in the background. How can you say "And after you run the cam a few seasons you will see how many blurry pics and deer the ir flash affects the deer." This camera has only been on the market since last season. It was new for the 2011 season. There's no way that you can back that statement up. As far as the flash and patterns, I've used flash cams and gotten the same deer standing in front of it for over an hour, I have this buck in front of the camera for 19 minutes, triggering for 13 pictures and 13 video clips. He didn't spook once. I've had deer spook before, and but unless you have a black flash camera, any IR flash will cause the to spook. I'm not spending the kind of money for a blackout IR and leaving it in the woods.

Just like i wrote it. after you run the cams for a few seasons you will see a pattern of how the cam performs period,Never wrote the cam has been out for more then a year like you say. But it has been out for a while, all i asked is that you should look around the web and reveiw sites. The cam is slow and hard on battery's and yes there are much better cams out there for 100.00 like dlc covert 3.0 or spypoints put either on the same tree as your m80 and you will see the difference. Not all deer spook from the flash of cams ..But some do
I've been running my cameras since about July. About as long as anyone with these cameras, and have gotten thousands of pictures off of them. I'm pretty sure I know what my pictures look like. Just out of curiosity, did you ever do the firmware update on your cameras? 1.64 seconds trigger speed on the M-80. I can't even find a review on the DLC Covert 3.0 that lists a tested trigger speed. Here a review on the M80's from an independent company that lists positives and negatives about the camera. I never said the M80 was the best camera on the market, but I believe it does a very good job. http://www.chasingame.com/index.php?id=214
The coverts are 1.2 and i think the spypoints are the same, Most cams dont trigger the same in video mode. some have different recovery time which is why some cams have burst mode in the first place and some do both. I would like to say i have bought 2 ltl acorn black flash and 1 low glow cams off the net for 137.00 and 139.00 to my door and my plan is to get rid of the cams i dont like and change all my cams to black flash over the next year or so. We have a real problem here with trespassers and thieves so i have been putting my cams out of reach with a small step ladder to put the cams out of the line of sight. Anymore guys like us have to read all any reviews out there even some of the review site sell cams and that not a good thing in my view sometimes we have to read between the lines.
I still have two cams out and the only buck that has shed so far is a 7 pointer that has broke his front leg or shoulder. I'm sure the injury had something to do with him shedding and that was almost three weeks ago.
I've only seen 1 or 2 on my cams that have shed. I have anywhere from spikes to forkhorns to 6pts to that big 10 that are still carrying. I'm ready for them to start dropping so I can get out and get some sheds.
