Hey hicks, don't be discouraged any more than you are. Listen to schultzy & bowanna. They have the knowledge of a hunter. I see that you are too are a "newb" and just looking for the "knowledge" of these "professional" bowhunters. Just keep on going, swallow that one, and keep going, pray for the best of everything (not just hunting), and youy will prevail! Many more red arrows to you!
Just want to make sure that everyone is done hen pecking the hell out of this guy. Sorry Hicks, but you were the first one of the season...... the sacrificial lamb. Good luck to you.
SORRY about not finding the big guy, been there myself, remember this U GOT EM memories for life , stories to tell , there will always be another big guy around the corner, btw i think u dropped a couple corn there,in the pix good luc!
Yes...we learned you are not allowed to point out mistakes after shooting a deer, that would help the hunter, and others reading this thread, to learn from said mistakes. Note: This only applies if big antlers are involved. You are allowed to do these things on smaller bucks and does.
There is always the chance, that he joined, just to make such a post and thus expose our weakness for that lamb?
I heard Finch is actually "BHicks". He started this thread to expose bow hunters as antler hunters, killing deer only for the bone on their head and wasting the meat. You just can't trust those PETA guys.
Thank you. That is just what I did. I am blessed to have a great place to hunt. Still plenty left over for seed. I
Good Job man, and sorry to hear about the lost buck. I had the same thing happen to me last year, stuck a nice buck then it started raining.... looked for it for several days, took off work and looked everywhere. That was in mid september.....ended up finding it this feburary while looking for sheds.....he buryied himself in a brush pile and because of the tall weeds last september, I never saw it. I walked by that brush pile probally a 100 times and never saw him. It was a terrible feeling, but I have him now, and My taxidermist did a great job restoring the color in the antlers and he is now hanging on my wall.
