Alright I know I know this bow isn't the newest latest and greatest thing, You would probably much rather like to read something about the new Mathews Halon. But this is what I have for you. If you have happened to read my previous threads, I am on a journey for a new bow. I tore my shoulder twice in high school and have since outgrown my Mission UX2 scene as I am 19. My journey started by looking at bows in my price range and it started with looking at the latest and greatest smooth drawing bows. The Elite Energy 32, the Elite Synergy, the Prime Rize, and the Mathews z7xtreme. no where on that list was the creed. I came home from college today and visited my local archery shop. Coming in not many shops have left handed bows for individuals to test shoot in my area, and what they had was a Creed for a very good price of $600. So of course I wanted to shoot it the bow was set at 27.5 inch draw length and 70lb draw weight that is about 10 more pounds then I'm currently shooting so I wasn't to sure about shooting because the clerk was new and didn't really know how to change the weight but none the less I shot it. the draw cycle was way different for me at first, to start it has a hard starting point but once you pass it and get into your back wall it is very solid but i did creep forward once and darn near ripped my shoulder out it felt like, over all this is defiantly a bow I can see my self shooting anyone else that owns the creed or has shot it id love to hear your opinions on its pros and cons.
I had the unfortunate experience of tuning a creed once. Its stiff and lopsided coming off the idler and it has zero valley and no way tune any kind of valley into it. the geometry is horrible and not conducive solid and steady pin float. I wouldn't look at it for 600$ or 60$. Its on the short list for one of the worst bows i handled in the last 10 years or so....
Wow, surprised to hear trial's opinion. I really like my Creed. It was the first bow I shot that I liked better than my old Drenalin. I haven't had issues at all tuning my bow. Paper, walk-back, BH... all great. I'll most likely do the same thing I did with my Drenalin and keep it until I shoot something that feels better. Though, I haven't shot any new bows in the last two years
I bought a creed last fall and it has done nothing but grow on me since I bought it. I have grown to really like the bow. smooth as silk and quiet to boot! I'm LH as well. I have mine at 29" and 65# right now. No tuning issues for me. I have an HSA 1 pin sight and an Apache drop away rest. I put the focus grip on it and added some bowjax between the limbs this year. I have been shooting the Easton FMJ with it. very nice set up for me, I won't be looking at new bows anytime soon. I like my creed too much. I had no problems getting a good paper tune on it.
I'm on my 3rd year with the creed and I love everything about this bow but the jumpy cam, they do make a smaller diameter draw stop and that helps some but when I really relax shooting 3d or start getting tired it starts catching me and pulling me down. Ultimately it was enough for me to decide to buy a new bow this year.
You can actually put on a thinner rubber bumper on the draw stop that takes the jumpiness out... With that slight modification, I like the bow... With the standard thick bumper, it's too jumpy for me...
I am a lefty also so know where you're coming from about not getting to shoot everything. My search for the best fit bow for me has made my local archery shop very happy people. The bows I've shot to date are: PSE Bowtech Mathews Prime Hoyt As you can see from my signature, I currently shoot Hoyt. Left Mathews because of the "jumpy cam" thing. I owned and shot each bow for at least a couple of years, so it wasn't like getting it and getting rid of it within a months time.
I own a Creed and it is a Very Good Bow! It is a nice, smooth, and compact. I didn't have any tuning issues either. I installed my HHA sight on it myself and I tuned and dialed it in very easily. Didn't take 30 mins. I shoot the Easton Injexion Deep Six FMJs and it performs really well with this bow. I think you will be pleased with it.
