Has anyone tried it yet? It also says it "masks human scent". Not sure what to make out of that. But obviously trying to alleviate hunters concerns about scent that the repellent puts out.

I purchased a package and are going to try it out and see if it is as effective as the original scent.

Has anyone had any issues with animals smelling those? I was just out setting up tree stands for elk hunting and the bugs were terrible out there. I'm debating on getting one of these

Not having any mosquitoes or black flies around for 50 cents an hour is too much money?

Well. Does it cost 50 cents to buy it initally? I don't think so. 25 bucks to get started. Then maybe 50 cents an hour. So yes it's too ****ing much money for me.

Looks like a good product and the reviews back it up.

Greatest invention since the range finder in my opinion. I have never had a deer spook while using one. And they are the best mosquito repellant there is. You fire it up and the mosquitoes are gone in 10 seconds. I'd pay $100 for one if that's what they cost.

Agree 100%. We are only talking about the hunting aspect. I use mine on the back deck with the family, while camping, the uses are endless. If you don't have one of these and you are camping how much do you spend on bug spray? Plus then you are a stinky, sticky mess.

The cost is well worth it imo.

I just bought one, haven't tried it out in the woods yet, but it did a great job for the 4'th of July cookout, kept the entire back half of the yard bug free.

I’m not too sure that earth scent out of a Thermacell would be of any benefit. In fact, I’ve about given up on any manufactured cover scent and if I use any at all it will be something natural. It may smell like dirt to our "unsophisticated" sense of smell, but I’m not convinced it smells like the dirt where I hunt - especially to a deer.

As far as the Thermacell itself goes, it does work and it works very well but I rarely use mine since I discovered Permethrin spray. “Permanone” by Repel is the best that I’ve tried. If I spray all of my hunting clothing with it including my face mask it not only keeps ticks and chiggers off but it also keeps the mosquitoes from landing on me and it’s good for around two weeks and lasts through multiple washings. All around great stuff and it results in one less thing to carry into the woods.

Bass Pro had them on sale this week... $15.00 after rebate. (I also got 10% for being a bullet dodger).

Sportsmans has them the cheapest other then that.

Do you want to try one? PM me your name and address and I'll send you mine. I don't use it. I'll even include the holster and a fairly decent supply of pads and butane cartridges too. I don't see just letting it sit in the closet. Someone else may as well get some use out of it.
