I'm convinced after doing some reading that the mix I suggested will not harm the color on the clothing. 3% peroxide should not be strong enough to do anything to colors. I'd suggest trying it on one of the smaller and cheaper items and see if it even works. I think you'll be happy with it. It will clean skunk smell off a dog in short order...and phone cases (don't ask, lol)
That's actually not a bad idea. You can buy carbon powder here: http://www.carbonsynergy.net/index.php?page=modules/pages/index&id=6 I use this product. I dust my hunting clothes with it.
soak it in tomato sauce and baking soda over night, Hose it out. Wash it. Repeat a few more times. Wash it again
I've never tried one of these but have done some reading and they sound convincing. Ozone generator. http://www.amazon.com/Foreverozone-...id=1435842099&sr=8-4&keywords=ozone+generator I would try and build a closet out of 2x4's, wrap it in plastic wrap then run your ozonics in there for a day and see if it helps.
I would do an extended presoak in normal laundry detergent and baking soda, run it thru 2-3 times and let it presoak for an hour each time.
Odo-Ban is the stuff they use to get dog and cat pee out of stuff. Its a house-flipper's dream product. http://www.odoban.com/
Go rent a ozone generator unit and use it in a shed or something... It would be cheaper than spending the gas to retrieve the other stuff you mentioned anyway.
Im getting off work early to go get it. I had it out side all night and Im almost positive the smell as gotten worse. Im gonna soak it in DDW and then put in there and see what happens.
I was just doing some searching on Google and Vinegar came up often. 2 articles mentioned washing in a half to a full gallon of vinegar and then doing a stardard wash in scent killer. Maybe even soaking in the vinegar first would help as well.
Dilution is the solution to pollution...just keep soaking and washing...it will come out eventually...a little dead down wind, vinegar, baking soda, all come to mind...you could also put it in a bag when dry with kitty litter as the clay will bond with the particles in the urine. Good luck...minor mishap...you didn't ruin your $1500 collection, you just wasted a lot of your time.
I've heard that prolonged exposure to ozone can break down elastic materials...I think it was Lee Lakoski who made the claim.
