I mean, I am so tired of turning it on and finding things like.. beach volleyball, synchronized swimming, volleyball, badmittion, table tennis(ping pong), team hand ball, water polo and on and on. I remember the Olympics when you could see live all the track and field , the decathaon etc. NO MORE.... now you got to watch a couple girls with their noses plugged swimming in circles underwater. I'm really disappointed in the way it's gone. To top it off, Time Warner won't let you record more than 10 hours of the Olympics so you can't fast forward through the bull****. Hell, I was expecting track and field but I'm now watching a Sandra Bullock movie.
NOT drunk posting. I just cooked dinner for my brother and his wife. They left because they too hate beach volleyball etc.
I like watching all of the sports except basketball. They have schedules posted so you don't have to watch anything you don't want to.
I’ve successfully avoided every single minute of Olympic coverage. If I want to find out who won what, I go to the Google machine but aside from archery I don’t give a damn about any of it. I did however make 30 pounds of jerky today instead. Perhaps one day that will be an Olympic event too.
Wonder if China will make the USA give them all their gold medals to pay off some of our debt to them....
Don't get me wrong I like seeing all the events that you never see or hear of outside the olpympics, but thier coverage of T&F, gymnastics & swimming, the high profile stuff could NOT get any worse. Tape delay it rather than showing it live, THEN air it so late that no normal working person is able to stay up & watch. THe PREMIERE event in T&F, the mens 100M final airs past 11:15 PM. I wish bad, bad things on whoever made out the decisions for NBC's coverage, That person(s) need(s) fired before these games are even over.
Oh don't get me wrong, NBC has done a horrible job with their coverage, but that is mostly due to all the tape delays and how they themselves have spoiled several events right before they air it. It is almost impossible to not be spoiled of a high profile event final right now with ESPN making it their mission to spoil everything, and of course, FB and twitter. Hell, freaking NPR spoiled one of the Phelp's races for me.
I agree, I tried to wait up but fell asleep on the couch. It sucks that they waited until after 11:15 to air it.
Maybe if they would just show the events instead of making us sit through everyone's life story. It's turning into another realty tv show. But I do enjoy the women's beach volleyball... I strangely found myself pulling for Lithuania in roundball for some reason... I didn't want them to win necessarily... but a little humility for DT2 was fun to watch.
Thats why the google box is the perfect device to get the reults.You dont have to suffer through anything you dont care to view and you dont have to sit through any corporate sponsors bs like you would on the idiot box. I would have thought todays young kids would go this route but it seems some actually care about the back story and history of the games players.
