I have been hunting a nice corn/bean field and normally I go out in the mornings and most of the time I see deer. But lately I have been trying to go on afternoon hunting trips but I have not seen any deer whatsoever. Is there any thing different I should do in the afternoon than when I morning hunt? If anybody knows please help me out.
    Thanks :)

What time are you getting out?
Most of the deer I have taken have been in the afternoon. I like to get out three hours before last legal light. Nothing else changes for me as far as morning or afternoon sits.
Their is an article on the home page of this site about morning or afternoon hunts... may be something in their that can help you???

Ha I never have any luck in morning hunts.

Just the main thing is if your hunting food sources, what I got mostly, try getting in early and waiting them out. For most part I don't see much until about a hour or so before sunset. So being patient is needed. As far as setul I'd either try to find where the deer are moving into these areas from and catching them in a "staging" area or setting up on edge of field in a spot they move to to feed. For the most part though its really not much different than mornings.

I don't have much luck in the mornings after the rut! I have been hunting for 22 years and only killed one buck in the morning after the rut and that was 2003!!!!

Make sure to get in plenty early & be as stealthy as possible. Also, keep close tabs on trail cams & see if you can locate deer on a different part of the property in the afternoons & possibly put a set there.

Some spots are only productive either in the morning or in the afternoon. There are many factors that go into determining when to sit a given location. The reason u may not be seeing deer in the afternoon could be that the deer are not making it to the fields until after dark. Hunting pressure will keep them in the brush until dark, but they could also be browsing on acorns and various other things in the woods on their way to the fields. If you know where the bedding area is, maybe u should try to set up back in the woods a little bit to catch them before it gets dark.
