First off welcome to the site. This question however has too many variables for a guy to answer over the Internet on a message board. Too vague if you know what I mean. The best thing to do is find a map of public land near where you intend to hunt then start reviewing and do some scouting to find deer sign.

In regards to the bow, I would suggest finding a reliable bow shop and ask them to get your started. Start shooting some bows there and find one that you like in your price range that they recommend.

    Welcome aboard.

But you really are getting a very late start for this season. Most bow seasons are about to start or have just started. You will have a hard time finding private land to hunt now. Not saying it cant be done but it won't be easy. Best bet would be to find some public hunting ground.

Being new to bowhunting it's gonna take you a while to get up to speed with your equipment too. It's not as simple as buying a gun and sighting it in. It takes a lot of practice to get proficient with a bow. You need to be able to hit where you want to consistantly. Not trying to discourage you but you're getting a late start and need to really practice a lot before hitting the woods.

All that being said, if you have some specific questions about equipment or what it takes to get set up ask away. We will try to help you out and speed up the process. The best advice I can give is find a reputable archery pro shop in your area and pay them a visit. Or if you have a friend that is into bowhunting talk to them.
