You were my original inspiration for it, Mark .. I am finally obeying you and getting one myself :D

I would go bigger but the wife doesn't want to ...besides, if it takes longer, that is the longer I get to be on my sexy tractor :D

LOL ... you got it ... I guess I want a new one ...spoiled sucker that I am ..heading to the tractor store in a few minutes :nana:

Might as well grab a set of tire chains for it while you are there. $80 when I got mine.

Nice little tractor. Within 3 months you'll wish you went bigger. It will make for a good lawn mower as well with the mid mount pto. Also, get as many remotes as possible. They make life much easier.

    Remotes

Remotes are what operate things like a grapple, angle for the rear blade, top and tilt etc. get as many as possible.

If you are getting a rear blade make sure you get skid shoes with it. If you don't have these you will make a big mess. Ask me how I know.

    Skid shoes

The tractor will become your new best friend. Good luck and have fun.

I have no doubt that.this will be the case...I pushed hard for a 30 yesterday and she would not budge....bigger tractor...more lifting capacity....no go

My thought is she will realize the need for a bigger one if the business keeps growing and we will trade this one in

Thank you so much for the info and advice, Greg! :)

The rear blade....how does it do with snow?

Snow: Notice the slotted pipe on the cutting edge of my rear blade. This is for snow. I plow over 1/2 mile of gravel drive. Once the xrive is frozen, the pipe keeps you from shoving all your gravel into your lawn. It is a great snow plow.

Rear blades with snow depend on how wet and deep the snow is. Keep the angle right and the speed correct and they usually do pretty well. Get chains for the tires and it will do even better. I like to keep my front bucket about 1' off the ground to move any deeper snow and let the blade do the rest.

Getting used to a rear blade takes some practice. I have a heavy blade, 800 + pounds. With the skid shoes set down to hold tbe blade off the ground, you adjust the top link to set the desired gap between the blade and the ground. For gravel, you want to build up a layer of packed snow. Once I get that I then allow the blade (with pipe) to make full contact witb the ground. For snow I plow as fast as I can.

My tractor is fairly heavy. 7000 lbs with rear blade. All 4 of my tires are loaded with Rim Guard. I've plowed for 2 seasons with a lot of snow here and have gotten by without chains. I also have 4wd. I will have a set of chains some day.

Greg, the blade works for grading land as well, right?

I thought you were looking at a blue one?

That looks pretty much like mine. Same loader. 52" tiller?

I have a 'box scraper'. LOL Not sure what the difference in utility there is between the box blade and a scraper?

Went to another Deere dealer and they treated me right ... I saved money and got a bigger tractor than the wifey wanted but not as big as I wanted .... all in all it worked out pretty good :)

    Nice. You'll be happy.

I like the folding ROP on it. Mine isn't. Since about half the hours my tractor gets is from mowing the yard which is like an obstacle course with low branched fruit trees..... the fixed ROP is a PITA.

Kendall was mowing at about 9 mph and hit a heavy duty apple tree branch with the top of the ROP. Normally, he could go under that branch but it was now heavy with apples. He did a major wheelie with the tractor. Which is a pretty good trick. The branch was turned into firewood shortly thereafter. :D
