Alright, after the 25mph winds combined with the 30 degree temps in Kansas last weekend, I'm in the market for some cold weather camo. I'm not too worried about the cost as I want some quality stuff. So I've been looking at the Scent-Lok Timber Fleece, Scent-Lok Full Season and the Browning stuff. I'd really like something in the predator pattern but I can't really find anything.

So, what do you think and where can I look at something in Predator that is similar to the stuff above?

I personnaly don't own any, but I hear Grey Wolf Woolens makes the best stuff going and Predator is their main pattern. That is if you don't mind the price.

I know Matt and Greg had a bunch of their stuff on this weekend. Give them a shout for some info on that if you are interested.

Predators fleece is good stuff, I like...Not too bulky, but pretty dang warm...and only 80 bucks too.

Id think adding a thin windbreaker layer underneath would cut wind, and a few base layers like UA coldgear paired with this fleece would be perfect for cold temps...

Plus, youd be sportin Predator on the outside.

Is this something you want to use this season, or next?

If you don't mind a little wait and if your really willing to pay top dollar for the best stuff out there, I'd call Jeff up at Gray Wolf Woolens, and have him make you a wolfskin suit in any Predator pattern you want. Absolute top notch stuff, you can't really get any better. I finally bit the bullet this year and bought 2 sets(uninsulated Predator Spring Green, and uninsulated Predator Fall Brown), and I'll have another set made for next year as well (Comformax lined Predator Fall Gray). Keep in mind my recommendation is coming from someone that paid full price for everything I have from these guys.........and I don't regret it one bit. One of the best gear purchases I've made in quite a few years......wish I wouldn't have waited so long to finally do it.

For what your explaning, get it with the Comformax lining only, the Liteloft/Comformax combo will likely be too warm for layering. The Comformax with a good quality base layer and a mid level layer will keep you warm down into the lower digit temps for sure.

2 weeks ago it was down in the mid teens one morning on the way in. I had a Scent Lok baselayer, Rocky heavyweight fleece base layer top and bottom, a Scent Lok lined Cabelas Silent Weave camp shirt (predator Gray), and my Gray Wolf cargo pants (uninsulated wolfskin). Once I got to my tree I put on a Predator heavyweight fleece vest, and my Gray Wolf uninsulated wolfskin jacket and was comfortable from before shooting light till well after noon in my tree. I've seen the Comformax lining as well on Matt's vest when he came up to my place a few weeks ago, and it's supposed to really do a great job in colder temps.

Call Jeff at Gray Wolf, and see what he can do for you and the timeframe he is working on now. He might surprise you, he got my stuff out fairly quickly for me.

Here I am in all my glory sitting in roughly 18 degrees outside......:moose:. If you order a set, you have to get yourself one of the fleece bowhunting.com hats in Predator too. :d

Yeah no kidding! I don't even buy green bananas anymore... let alone try to order that stuff and expect to use it before the end of the... decade:deer:

Thanks RJ, I'll give it a whirl!
