I had a doe and 2 fawns coming to my food plot in the back yard at about 5:15. They were coming from straight in front of me. I got stood up and ready for the shot. Just as they went under a limb to enter the plot I drew my bow. Then all of a sudden a deer off to my right starts to blow. I didn't even know she was there. I was concentrating on the 3 in front of me, I hadn't noticed another doe enter the plot from my right. She caught me drawing and the gig was up. They all took a few bounds back into the woods and stomped and blew for a few minutes and then took off.

Needless to say I didn't see any more deer after that.

that sucks. I had that happen 6-7 years ago gun hunting, but the stakes were higher.....a 160 class buck instead of a doe.

Me thinks with your hunting spots, there'll be plenty of backstraps when the season comes to an end.

deja vu. :deer: Like I said over there, those cage, mature momma does can be worthy adversaries. :busted: At least your hunting John, I have two sleeps yet and I'll join you in the woods, well from across the country anyway. NC here we come.

Good luck John, plant it and they will come.

:busted: Yea, that really bites, and of course they have to Western Union every deer in the county that they saw you. I had that happen w/a buck last yr. He wouldn't stop blowing for at least 15 minutes as he ran to other county. So I feel your pain. :bash: How the heck something that big just stand there, and we not notice them walk in? :deer:
