so today i hunted a spot i got, after not hunting it for the past 2 weeks, and because the wind was weird, i sat on the ground, i saw a deer behind me witch sucks because they could smell me, i grunted and the deer left, 15 min before dark i here crunching right in front of me, so i pull the bow back, and i see a small branch that makes a v in front, i said to my self that i can shoot in that v, then if she moves i got the whole field. long story short, she came, i got excited, and was not paying attention the the small branch, and shot, and missed and let this nice 180 lb doe get away, i hope she will come back to the spot some day soon, what do you guys think, did i mess that deer up?
depends on pressure i dropped a arrow this afternoon with a doe standing 18 away and she ran off and came back right before dark. but our deer are very unpressured and they arent real crazy/ignorant acting so it helps in the end
she is VERY big, i call her a maitreearch doe, or how ever you spell it, but there is not that much pressure on them one hunter on 130 ac.
