I love "unexpected" time in the woods.

Gotta love the 7:00 am call from the Boss saying, "You don't have to come in today if you got something you wanna do..see ya Friday" ( I worked late yesterday so he could take a day off, maybe he was returning the favor?) ...I figure heck, not working today isn't something a little side job can't fix, and besides this is pretty rare. Of course I have some things I should do silly boss man! But those things will have to wait... because I am heading out in an attempt to beat that "October lull" everyone loves to discuss.;)

Overcast day, 20 degrees below normal temp for this time of year, 2 new stands to choose from, a new rubline to investigate, and a camera to check.. I may even do some fall bass fishing until it's time to get in a tree. I love having largemouths swimming around a hundred yards or so from my favorite tree stands :D... All this excitement as I head out the door, and I may not even see a single deer. Or, I may see another beast of a Rob buck. Man I love to hunt.

I hope you all have a great Thursday, that is all.

Lucky you and best of luck to you. I usually work til 4 am but have been getting lucky and finishing up around 2 or 2:30. That's been a pleasant surprise and has given me a few hours to sleep before heading to the woods.
