I've finally found what I was looking for. Well, at least I think I have. The doe that I shot Sunday morning left a blood trail that even I could manage to follow with some effort, and I'm colorblind. Of course, no tracking was really required since I knew where she had crashed. Still, it was reassuring to know that I might be able to blood trail a deer on my own if the need arises.

I started out with Slick Tricks, but out of the 3 bucks I shot I didn't have a single blood trail. I then switched to Rage, but have been thinking about switching back to Slick Tricks. I am just worried about something going wrong with the expandable, and there is absolutely nothing to go wrong with on the Slick Tricks.

After witnessing the buck I took last year crash within site and seeing the blood trail produced, I'm all on the Slick Trick bandwagon.

What's not to love about them? They fly very well. With a tuned bow, you should not have issues getting them to impact close to your field points. I use Blazer vanes and have no trouble getting them to fly well.

They're ALL steel. No flimsy aluminum body and, correct me if I'm wrong, but they have the thickest replaceable blades on the market.

I switched back to a fixed head last year. I was tired of the hassle of expandables and was going to go back to a Muzzy since I have 4 packs of them. I decided to give the slicks a try and am not regretting my decision in the least.

Bottom line, these heads are extremely strong, from the body to the blades and fly well. Not to mention they are much cheaper than many of their competitors.
