I love condiments. I drench burgers in BBQ sauce, french dressing, eat meat with General Tso sauce, etc. I cannot get enough of condiments. My friend in college who is strictly a non-condiment guy despises my eating practices. He HATES condiments. I would load up a burger or whatever with as much dripping condiments as I could lay down and let the sauce drip off as I ate it just to make him sick. He in turn would pick up two utensils and form a cross with them in order to protect himself mentally. I am interested in your thoughts on your favorite condiments (so I can take notes) and whether you believe adding condiments to such things as say steaks is sacrelig. Here are two condiments that are making their rounds at my house these days. Add these two together on a venison sandwich and your taste buds will melt.
I love sweet baby rays... so delicious! Currently I only use a couple condiments because I primarily just eat deli meat on sandwiches but I usually use a spicy southwest sauce and mayonnaise of course. I don't have any at school with me, but my dad discovered this mustard at the IL Deer and Turkey Classic and it is absolutely delicious. Every year they bring more product with them but they're usually sold out and gone before the end of last day. http://www.bensmustard.com/
Fitz, we have a famous Daves BBQ about 25 min from here, maybe I could swing by and pick up some of that sauce. Looks good. Brandon, sandwiches can be made much better with condiments. The days of bologna and cheese sandwiches is over!
My favorite condiments are salsa and coleslaw. They go on everything. (If you don't think coleslaw is a condiment you are kidding yourself.)
By the way, I think Texas Pete's is the worst condiment in the world.I don't even consider it natural food, it is like eating Clorox bleach. I will not eat anything with that foul stuff on it masquerading as a condiment. UGHHH.
Aioli is like mayonnaise, but better. Usually just olive oil, egg, and garlic. I like adding horseradish for some kick. It's not the easiest sauce due to it's tendency to break, but just make sure all of your ingredients are room temperature and you work slowly, and you should be good.
Cool, I will try some out of this weekend on a venison roast I am going to be making for sandwiches. Thanks.
I love any and all condiments! One of my favorite dipping sauces is Sweet baby Rays and a little bit of mayo, its called camp fire sauce.
I worked for Famous Dave's for 10 years. I miss the food! Of course I'm about 35# lighter now If you are a fan of Bloody Mary's, pick up their Devil's Spit Bloody Mix....
Different strokes. I love me some Texas Pete. Love horeradish. Locally made bone suckin' sauce is good.
Raye's mustard http://www.rayesmustard.com/ made locally it has won quite a few national awards. And of course Frank's Red Hot on everything from breakfast to dinner.
