Somewhere between 20-30 people by my calculations. It's going to be a hoot!

I've started to check camp inventory. These are the things I going to need help providing:

Camps cots (I have eight and will try to acquire more thru the summer via yard sales)
    Water jugs
    Fuel cans
    Propane bottles (20 pounders)
Everyone needs to bring their own sleeping bags. I have several for those flying in (pm me to make sure I save one for you if you're not bringing a bag).
Bring a camp chair (I will supply as many as I have...)

I have two 16'x20' canvas tents and one 8'x10'. I'm working on a third large tent. I will also pull up my tent trailer and enclosed trailer. Sleeping everyone should not be a problem. If you have a tent and are driving, toss it in for insurance.

    Hello Fellow Elk Hunters,

Well Colorado 2010 being my first "Elk Camp" Im putting my gear list together which raised a question in terms of "camo" ?

Whats everyone wearing? or should I say, which camo will blend in on the hills of Colorado?

I Have always been a fan of Realtree, AP, APG, Hardwoods green etc, Im thinking of the Realtree Max 1 camo for this trip, which seems to be a popular choice when Elk hunting?

ASAT, Enigma and so on, look very cool!

and er, Dave, Im not following in your footsteps with grass skirts and coconut shells!!!

    See ya there guys,

    Colin

Id suggest sending a PM to Will 'Iamyourhuckleberry'

AS for Camo I have scentlok RT AP and cant afford to buy any new camo.

I hope the Deer/Elk arent too snobby and wont let me shoot them if im wearing 'last years camo'
Ill also bring my King of The Mountain top and give that a try.

See what the weathers like, I might go primitive and just cover my skin with cold ash and charcoal! (maybe borrow Dave's coconuts to cover my nipples, dont want you boys getting too excited!)

Probably a GOOD idea.....:tu: I know if it were me and I were stateside flying in, I'd actually be SHIPPING my bow to Will, then getting it once I got there to make sure it was actually there when I was, as I don't trust airlines to get things where they are supposed to be.... But I'm also a CHICKEN that will only fly if I am FORCED to....

    Colin,
I've not yet killed an elk, but from my experiences with animals, as long as whatever you're wearing "semi" blends in, meaning don't be wearing a PINK dress w/ BLUE stripes, and you know when to move and when not to, I've gotten very close to a LOT of animals wearing about every camouflage I've ever worn, including the OLD Army Fatigue camo's. I've killed as many "Eastern Whitetails" from the ground as I have from treestands, so I hunt them at THEIR level a good bit as well. If ELK are anything like deer, making EYE CONTACT is a big "NO-NO!!!" I know the Mule deer and bear I saw last year had no idea I was there, until I moved in the case of the mule deer, when there's a 400+ lbs. bear near me, I'm gonna do as I did last year and just sit tight and hope he don't notice me, if I don't have a tag to shoot him. And sit tight I did until he was about 30 minutes gone, then I moved AWAY from the direction he went. And trust me, when he rolled around in that little wallow, it was quite obvious HE was a HE!!! :D

    Sorry guys!

Camo has been covered now, so someone had to do it!
Broadheads?! what will people be using?

I have Rage 3 blade 100gr that left a BIG hole in a white tail and dropped it in 40yards and they fly Very well! and the blades ONLY EVER opened early on me when I hadnt 'closed them properly'
but I also have Magnus snuffer SS which dont fly quite as well but I took 3 hogs down with them no probs and group in a jam jar lid with them(which is good enough for me!)

If I can find sme cash id like to get some Ti Rages as coming from the UK I only get to hunt MAX once per year so the cost is insignificant.

    What will people be taking?
