I'm gonna have to respectfully withdraw as well. I decided to purchase a new truck this year, but the current plan is for you guys to see the new truck first hand in Sept. 2011! It will be better because I'll save more and try for a bear and elk tag then!

Priorities indeed need to be in order, and if I were looking at needing to accrue large costs such as a new truck or whatever, I can't honestly say I'd be considering the trip myself. As it is, my 11yr old truck still runs like a top, and gets good fuel economy, therefore, I'm still looking at taking a trip into the majestic mountains out yonder.

    Dave,

You'll know what I said soon enough. You should consider sleeping with one eye open....LOL.

Kroh, sorry to hear you're not coming. We'll keep the light on for you.

I don't blame you a bit Krohboy. Big expenses usually take away from other things such as hunting trips. Been there and done that the last 5 years unfortunately.

Yeah, I'm going to try and eek another year out of the old rusted out, worn out 89 Landcruiser so I can afford this trip... then I'm going to have to eek another year out it so I can afford Australia next year. Before you know it I'm going to be running it down the road Flintstones style! Good thing the chicks dig me for my dashing good looks and charmingly modest personality not my flashy car! ha! :D

Yeah, I crack me up too! :D

Hey, when do we here the results on the deer drawing? We're supposed to hear back on all our AK hunts tonight. I had a nightmare last night that I drew my Dall's sheep, Kodiak brown bear and mountain goat tags all for the same time as our CO hunt!

I think they do the drawing in June. I do not have the regs in front of me but I think that is correct. I hear ya, I've applied to desert sheep and moose tags........once in a life time hunts.

After 12 unsuccessful years I just drew a north road system goat tag. Not my first choice but I just extended my goat season by 2 months! Now I can chase them Aug. 20 to Dec. 15. I probably won't even think about it until I get back from CO. I want prime long fur for a 1/2 body mount. Now I've got some serious work to do to get my legs and lungs back under me again after a long soft winter.

Will, It's the same tag that DW and Skinny Dave got last year. Plenty of goats but hard to find a real bruiser.

I'm thinkin maybe one day I might see if there is a ranch nearby and go out for a day in the mountains horseback stylee , I'd have to buy a cowboy hat first though :) . Its just something I've always fancied doing would love to see the Rockies by horse .
