It sounds good to me! I was wondering anyone heading through southwest MN? It would be nice if I could meet up with someone for the ride.

I like the idea. I dont really know anyone from over here that would go and dont really know anyone over your side that might be struggling to meet the costs of going. I am happy to donate what I can though to help whoever might get drawn make it over.

I'll be looking to share rides with anyone passing through Indiana.

Don't think I have anyone here to put in the hat, but I'll find something to donate.

I cannot nominate anybody from over here , if I could it would be my brother. I'd love to bring him over some time, one day maybe . In the meantime, one lucky person is gonna get one heck of an experience .

Look me up, closer to time, I'm heading straight across I-70, may be getting Cougar Mag in IL as well. I have a 2500 Dodge QC w/ an 8ft bed and a cap on it.....so it'll pack plenty of stuff....:D

That would be absolutely awesome - the more ways we can split gas and driving the better! I've never hunted elk before. This is definitely a high bullet item on my bucket list. Checked one off last year with an archery antelope hunt - I'll be going back again this year if everything works out. I can't wait to hunt elk.

    Doug,

Only pick JJ up if he promises to give you one of his "signed" books. You'll have some good reading material while he's driving. I started reading Mark's book and could not put it down-really hit home.

If we need a trailer I have access to one or will be buying one soon(need one anyway). My last trip 3 of us drove a full sized Dodge Ram crew cab and still used a trailer that was packed full. Just in case.

I am still trying to hold strong to attending. Things are not looking good for my wife and I in terms of our situation. I work for the local county government and my wife for the county school system. We are more than likely going to have 10% of our family income reduced. If I cannot find a reasonable solution to the situation I am out for the elk hunt. I cannot justify the expenses based on my needs at home...HOWEVER, it looks like I might be able to off-set some costs if I get promoted here in the next couple of months, which looks like a good possibility. I am still dreaming of this hunt.

I think most people are struggling in this current ecconomic climate, so good luck with the promotion.

The list on page 12 says 22 but I'm not sure that it's up to date. I think JJ and Krohboy need to be added.

The Mill i work at does not even know there is a recession at the moment , we have never been so busy . This Sunday will be my second day off since Christmas .
I always say , if you want something enough you will find a way . I'm throwing in so many hours overtime at the moment i feel like a zombie , sounds funny but boy is it hard work . What i do know is that come September, it will have all been worth it :) . What could be better than sharing time with friends and hunting for Elk in possibly one of the most beautiful places on Earth , the only way it could get better is if i could bring my 2 boys along ...... that is in the future .

    Joe ,

As i said before , you should be coming with us .

I think as it stands with JJ , Krohboy and martyn added , we are looking at 25 attendee's

    Did someone say traditional?

    I love my trad shooting.

Unfortunately I've had shoulder troubles - working on it. I hope to be back at the trad some time this summer. I will likely be hunting with my compound on this trip - never been elk hunting before. Can't wait.
