Thanks Rob, you just made my heart start pounding and my breathing get a little faster for a bit....Prayers for your Mom....
That was awesome Rob! There is nothing more magical than being in the woods with elk...bugling! What a memory! For me, any elk with a bow is a trophy. Yes, there are mule deer and bear in the area. They are both prevalent. However, the bear, like anywhwere else, move more at night than during the day. We cannot hunt them here in the dark. You never know though, it only takes a second and "BOOM" right in front of you stands an elk, a deer, or a bear. Like Tim said, you'll have a thirty second window of opportunity. You have got to be ready! You have got to stay positive! The moment you start saying, "there are no elk here", you might as well pack up and head home-for you are finished (you won't push yourself the way you need to). I call shotgun with Jess! I'm gonna have her call me in a biggin!
Rob that video was awesome. I will be one very happy camper if I can just get to see one that close let alone drop the string on one. Great stuff. I now have an Elk bugle as my ring tone to keep me motivated(not that I need much motivating). Get some strange looks when the phone rings at work LOL
some great looking stuff here fella's . its funny from over here in Australia that the bugle of an elk can stir up such excitement even if it is from the dvd player !!! ben
Rob , that is one cool video .... sure hope i can get that close this year . Ben , it really does make the hairs on the back of my neck stand when i hear an Elk Bugle , even on DVD Sounds like Missy could teach me a thing or two on the Elk calls , so i may need to pull you away for a day Will .
Thanks for sharing video Rob! Elk...and Aspens...what a scene. A week in the Rockies is going to be Heaven, regardless of the hunting success.
Fat chance there Dave. I called shotgun first...... Rob, our lions would have those pot bellies within 15 seconds of the chase. You're coming to kill not to play! LOL. Sheez oh pete, those are some big critters. Notice the lighter color of the bulls? Welcome aboard Ben. Yep, nothing like a close up screaming bull!
Flights already? Gees, I guess I better get on it and see what there is to be had before all the rest of you take up the good seats!!
The problem with Trans-atlantic flights is if we don't book early they end up costing a small fortune, or get fully booked But now I am excited......
I need to start looking at flights, too. As much as my wife travels, we fly free. But, getting those flights when we want them takes time. Looking forward to sleeping off a big 'ol flight drunk when I touch down. Last time I flew across country, the stewardess was asking me if I wanted my "usual" before we crossed the Blue Ridge range.
Yeah, I have the same problem getting off of this chunk of rock too. The flight from here to the mainland is always the hang-up.
