Growing up and living with elk out my back door my entire life, I think I have always kind of took them for granted just a tad. I actually get more pumped to hunt them now at 40 than I did at 20. They are a special creature, there is nothing like hunting elk with a bow in the rut! It is an amazing time of the year in the woods here, no doubt! best of luck to you!

It's not THAT far off... just one more round of P90X and a few wakeups and we'll be at 11,000 feet! :D

It's coming quick..and i'm ready for it! My packs already packed for a 3 day hunt! lol.

Opening weekend will be spent chasing mule deer 7 miles off the beaten path, then it's all elk for the rest of the season. can't wait!
