Opening day in Virginia and it was a good morning. I passed a 10 or 11 pointer (split left G3) and then regretted doing so once he got out of range. He was a borderline shooter for me but that doubt always sets in once the oppurtunity fades away. I know there are bigger bucks in my area so it's all good.

At about 0745, a doe and her fawn come into the picture and I decided to take momma. I've had a soft spot for momma and fawns before but I'm programmed to KILL and that is what I did. She was at 12 yards when I released my arrow and she didn't go far. Got some lung and the top of her heart. The fawn came back to investigate what happened to momma and even bleated one time. What a monster I have become. :) Now I'm eligible to kill two bucks back to back since I've taken a doe.

Also, this doe smelled like a rutting buck. Her tarsal glands were mighty stinky. First time using lighted nocks (nockturnals) this morning...these things are pretty cool.

Did you have to re papertune your bow after you put in the luminated nocks? Im worried the arrows will fly differently.

    Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

The Nockturnals are only 20 grains, 10 more grains than my factory nocks. I do not notice a difference shooting either one.
