i for one am very lucky to have my hunting bro also be my bow 'pro'.....this is the guy who got me to put down the guns and pick up the bows & i haven't put the bows down since..........around our area the 'pro shops' are pretty shaky at best - lol............my 'pro' shop is bruce lanthier's basement and i'm lucky cause he's teaching me as we go along ....... from making arrows from scratch to bow set-ups , tuning ,etc --- just lucky to have his knowledge & friendship in my corner anytime!
can we get ot our season opener yet? sept 15th won't be here fast enough!

I think he means, going and pounding sand would be more productive:p

Tuning a bow for someone else is like having golf clubs fitted for you by someone at the pro shop.

No one swings the same, no one shoots the same;)

To be honest , my first bow was set-up and ready to go . When i got my X-Force , i set it up all by myself with all new parts from scratch and glad i did . I now have a bow that shoots great and am proud of the fact that i did it myself . It must be said though , i learn't everything i know about archery and bow tuning from most of the guys on this site and the other site too . Its amazing what you can learn over a PC screen :)

Man, the local "proshop" continues to provide me with a never ending list of horror stories from everyone that starts out there and ends up on my dining room table. The last one was a guy set up with aluminum arrows that were three spine weights too light for his bow and on top of that the "pro" told him the 32" full length shaft was "close enough" to his 29" draw length that he didn't need to cut them (32" 2213's at 70# draw!!) and he couldn't figure out why it shot like crap... Everyone keeps trying to convince me to open a shop but I honestly just don't need the headache. I'll just keep doing as Bruce and the other Rob are doing and help people as they come to me.
