Do what makes you happy and don't listen to what other people have to say. You know what they say about opinions right. Lol hunt on bro!!
whatever it takes to stay in the woods doing what you love is what you need to do. Dont worry about what others think especially when it comes to doing whats best for you. Best of luck!
I agree, if I had a health reason that stopped me from shooting a compound I would pick up a cross bow that day and continue to hunt. That said, I hold nothing against someone without a medical issue using a crossbow when done legally either.
Been arguing this same thing on another forum for way to long now . I've archery hunted for 37 years now and have only used a crossbow for 2 years . (not try to start any debate) To me using a compound is easier but that's what I am used to . I did not ask for having to use a crossbow but I will not quit using it just because of someone else's misguided opinion of them . Hunt with whatever it takes to stay in the game and be proud of the fact that you can still hunt .
Heck no it's not cheating! Gun, bow, knife, spear, or your bare hands, as long as it's legal I'm good with it! You still have to get close and execute a good shoot, definitely isn't a guaranteed.
I'm one of the first to argue it isn't the same as bowhunting.... I'll also be the first to stand up for everyone's right regardless of health to crossbow hunt. Same with gun hunting. Same with tradbow hunting.... There's always a harder way to go about it regardless which level you settle on. If you get enjoyment out of however you choose to hunt that's the whole point to it. Do what makes ya happy and don't worry about anyone else.
Hunt with what you can as long as it is legal and ethical who cares what others say!! Good luck this season!!!
I'd say do what you gotta do and ignore anyone that's such a purist wanker. I hunt with a modern compound...in a petting zoo!
