Very cool (especially the assault rifle part:D). X2 on the weight in the bed. Frame out the wheel wells with some 2x4s of 2x6s (to keep the weight over the axle and so they don't become flying projectiles if you're in an accident) and put some bag rock salt in there (don't use sand...it freezes it tends to cause the packaging/bags to crack and break open).

I hear you on that Bow--the game warden actually told me that today. I might as well get that type of stuff because my broke rear end is not buying a new 4x4 anytime soon.

It's actually recommended to put the wait up against the cab. Not entirely sure why, but when i did the research on it, when I bought my 2 wheel drive truck, that is the information i was given. It also keeps the bed space open. I have a cross box and i built a box under it to hold the sand bags.

As for mileage...i just got rid of a 92 chevy silverado with 320,000 my parents have a 94 suburban with 280,000. Chevy keeps on trucking! Been great for me!

I forgot to tell you guys...when I was done getting my truck out I was absolutely covered with mud, from head to toe. After the game wardens got me out I offered them a "Happy Gilmore" handshake. You know the kind Happy Gilmore used on Chubbs at the beginning of the movie? They busted out laughing as did I.
