I have never really shed hunted. I have found sheds while hunting however, but never when I set out to find them in the off-season. Long story short, I walked around 4-5 miles in the woods today while scouting. I started to run out of energy and headed back to my truck. On the way out of the woods I noticed a little road so I took it. As I was paying attention a grass field I had never seen before I ran into mud and ice. And I mean a boggy muddy ice pit. I was stuck without a phone and a mile from the nearest person. Crap. So I tried for an hour to get myself out...nada. So I do the quick 1 mile jog through the woods in my boots, with half my pants torn in half, and mud all over my body like the swamp thing. As I am running I see a shed! So all in all I have scouted for over 20 hours without finding a shed in the past 2 weeks, then while running around like an idiot I find one on the quick run. ME=MORON. I show up on a security post on the military base and everyone begins to look at me. I finally track down someone to help me and two federal game wardens show up with an assault rifle and flak jackets. :) They were great guys and helped me out tremendously. Well here was my day............ughhh.

I work at a 365/24 hour facility. I work 12 hour shifts, so I work 14 out of 28 days. Gives me some time off during the week to enjoy the woods by myself. Downside is, I work 2 weekends a month and holidays as they hit on my schedule.

Thats a good shed! Put some boards in your truck bed just in case, might give you the necessary traction to get that thing moving.

I have been driving 2 wheel drive trucks for 20 years. I have never had 4 wheel drive. I am have learned what situations to avoid. For the life of me I could not see that ice/mud bog. I literally drove onto 6 inches of solid ice below the mud. Once I hit it, I was done.

I took a rock and cracked the ice over and over until I cleared a section out, then tried to get out over and over. I could no do it.

You guys are just getting your vehicles broke in... let me know when you're getting a quarter-million on them like my Jeep Grand Cherokee has. :D

Cool pics, get a heavy duty come a long as well with a bit of chain, could be a life saver when in need of a tow out of mud like that!
