because my town's high school won their first basketball state championship!!!!! They haven't been to a final four since 1916. Final two games they knocked off #1 ranked Chicago Hales Franciscan and beat traditional powerhouse, 5 time state champ, 2nd ranked Peoria Manual for the championship. The center is 7'0" tall and already committed to play for Illinois. This is a big deal in our town and for the whole county. Congrats to the Robinson Maroons!!!! Most likely a once in a lifetime happening for my community.
That was pretty cool to see. Breese gave Peoria Manual all they wanted, I expected a blowout in that game. Watch for Cahokia this weekend, they are the sleeper to win it all IMO.
I happened to be home last weekend and caught the game at the Hollywood. The owner said that was the most people he has had in there in 3 years at one time. Great game! Congrats RHS!! You want to place a wager that Derek Hannas just became a two sport athlete at Ball State next year?
Thats great Greg! Congrats to your community and home town! Our H.S.(Post Falls) won it our 5A (biggest schools in Idaho) for the first time in 46 years a couple weeks ago! I can definately relate..very very cool!
