I've actually never had heart but that looks pretty good. I heard its pretty unhealthy though, is that true? Might have to try it this fall.
Most organs are really high in cholesterol, but I don't think that includes the heart. It's a chunk of super lean meat. Even if it was, for the few times per year that I eat it, it's worth it. Gotta be better than fast food!
Never tried it but I have 2 in the deep freeze. How do you cook/prepare it. I'm kinda nervous to try it. Probably why it's been I. The freezer so long. Interested though.
It's really pretty simple. I cut it in half, carefully slice off that outer skin. In the middle, you'll find another skin, I cut all of that off. Slice off all of the top, valves and stuff. You should end up with nothing but meat. I then cut it up, season it, fry it with a little olive oil until done. It's great stuff. I only ate half, the other half will be soft tortilla steak tacos tomorrow :p
