I can't stop buying bow hangers.

I can walk into a full-service megaplex of hunting gear, complete with all the equipment a guy could ever want, but invariably, I'll find myself in the bow hanger aisle, stuffing my cart with gear hooks of all shapes and sizes.

I've got bi-fold. I've got tri-fold. I've got your basic J-hooks. I've got large ones, small ones, black ones, green ones, old ones, new ones... I've got them strung out across three states, rusting to pieces in my stand trees, awaiting my return.

Some will be abandoned. Some might live to hang my bow again.

Maybe it's the smell of that soft, buttery rubberized coating...

Maybe it's the thought of burying those razor sharp threads through the bark of a virgin piece of timber...

Some of them aren't even made for hunting, but I buy them anyway.

Whatever it is, I can't stop buying them.

    It consumes me.

    I love 'em too......

UNTIL that cold Nov. morning when one gets jealous of you using all the other hooks and refuses to dig into the tree. She'll make you sweat your ass off, trying. She'll tease you a few times. But, she's not gonna do the deed.

    I also hate 'em.

Nothing like a brand new Team Realtree 14 incher, with the old style sharper point. Works like a charm.

Classic...how many times have members from this site been doing this very thing and the same time. I have an issue with leaving them in trees all across the state...but my fetish is face masks. I have 30 or more and hate every one of them. I always buy more thinking this will be the one, but it never is.

I just use the basic "j hook." Actually two, one for my bow and one for my pack.

I use the j hooks and usually carry 3 in my pack. After two days of hunting I now have 2 in my pack  . It was 80+ degrees and I still couldn't get this one started in the tree yesterday afternoon and then, I dropped it. I did that chuckle you do when you know you are a dumbass. I got out a spare and got that one in the tree. When I left that evening I got 50 yards away and remembered I had that hook on the ground. I went back.looked around and couldn't find it. Gonna be an interesting season this year. Anyway, that's why I carry 3 in my pack.

Fran - sounds like a problem.... Does your wife know?

In all seriousness, I think I have 2 brand new beautiful bow hangers sitting in the package in my garage - only thing better than a bow hanger is a bow hanger on sale... They are so simple but probably one of the bigger/simple luxuries in the stand (IMO) - it drives me nuts if I have to hold onto my bow all day - or even worse, gulp, having it sit in my lap....

I have about 4 that I use and when my son is with me,I use all of them.

The sad part,I use the cheap Gorilla hanger to start a hole for all the others.Even my camera arm.Heck,I take it with me when I am putting in screw in steps to get them started easier. This thing will go in just about any tree with little effort.

Rope is my thing. I just can't seem to pass up the $5 "two camo ropes and two clips" at Walmart

I've got two ropes on most of my lock-ons. One to pull up the bow and one to pull up my back pack

Bass Pro had a special one day sale ... 2 pack of Big Game bi-fold bow hangers for $10 but they only let you buy 4 packages. I maxed out and almost sent my wife thru with 4 more but I figured that was a little over the top ...

I've got 'em laying around everywhere, my favorite is the bi-fold. Not too crazy about the tri-fold -- I witnessed one trying it's damnest to drop my my S2 and bstinger once. That was enough.
