Yeah they have lots of nasty critters further south. I've always heard that parts of MO had some scorpions, I've just never seen or heard of anyone seeing them this far up into MO. I believe I recall seeing a pic of one in a MO conservationist mag several years ago.

They've started showing up a lot more here recently... just had a new neighbor move into our subdivision and they found one while cleaning their house (Cape Girardeau area). He said he used to see them fairly frequently at his old house (about 45 minutes south of St. Louis).

When I was a Kid, I went to H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp(near Osceola) for one summer. I picked up a rock and it had a scorpion on the underside. Scared me pretty good at the time.

Glad I only have to deal with Bees, Mosquitos, Horse and Deer flies, Ticks and maybe a Garter snake.

Where I grew up we had several in the house every summer. Usually you would find them in the bath tub where they would get in but couldn't get out. I would say we got stung 3 or 4 times a year by them. You had to check your shoes (or anything on the floor) before you put in on. I don't miss those times....

You just keep them suckers out west... we don't need those things here in the eastern part of the state.. you can be selfish with those and keep them all to yourself.
