Earlier today, I had an idea to make a mantle piece to use around the holidays. It started out pretty simple, a strip of metal and some house numbers. While at the lumber store, I added a saddle threshold and felt feet to keep it from scratching the mantle. Then I decided to make the numbers changeable. $45 later, I walked out of the lumber store and came home. Then, I procrastinated for a while because the way things in my head appear do not directly correlate to my finished products. After 3 hours procrastinating, I went to the basement and sat on a small foot stool using my lap as the workbench. Three and a half hours later, I came up from the basement with this.... Not very good, but will do for photos tomorrow with the family.
