I tell ya, one just never knows when shooting these traditional bows. I don't care If you've been shooting them for years, nothing Is ever close to a guarantee no matter the yardage (even the 10 yarders)!! This morning I went out In 25+ mph winds to hunt turkeys behind my house for the 1st time ever (never turkey hunted before). Anyway the turkey hunting sucked, didn't see a damn thing for the 2 hours I sat there so I decided to pack on up and head back to the house. On the way back I see a rabbit about 10 to 12 yards away and all I could think about was this SOB Isn't eating any vittles In my garden. So I then nocked an arrow and even before I let that arrow go I told myself he's already dead, guess what I shot In front of It a foot!! I couldn't believe It!!! The dumb ass ran about 25 yards away so I went and grabbed the same arrow and snuck with In 15 yards this time and drew again and shot, missed again! This time I missed high by about 6 Inches!! I thought to myself, WTF Is going on????!!!! I knew nothing was wrong with my set up but I just had to wing a few arrows at the target when I got back, nailed It perfect every time. Shooting targets and hunting are 2 different things by a long shot, even a rabbit will get a guy going. Just thought I'd give you all a good laugh with some good old reality at It's finest!!
Thats Rabbit fever that is Steve , thanks for the cool story mate . Gave me a good laugh , i thougt you were gonna say you nailed him .
Steve. I know exactly what your sayin mate. When I was at Kents last year I missed a hog at 10 yards shot under him, then not even a minute later I missed another one at 20yds this time I over compensated and shot over it's back
And that right there my friends is my biggest obstacle to overcome mentally when choosing to hunt with trad gear. Thanks for sharing.
