My dad said he had an old trail cam laying around and if I found it I could have it. I found it! Its an older Stealth Cam that uses 35mm film. Any advice on using it? Anybody still have one that uses film? How are the pictures?

I started out using 35mm trailcams, although I never had a Stealthcam, They usually are pretty reliable but very limited by the amount of exposures on the film roll. They also eat batteries. In addition to the batteries there is alot of expense buying and developing film. If you want to get into trailcams, and I guarantee you'll be addicted, I would buy a mid-priced unit, such as a Covert, Bushnell, or some of the Moultries. By mid-price I mean in the $140-$175.00 range. Good luck!

I had an old 35mm Steath Cam. It took fairly god pics, but after a year the film wouldn't rewind, so I would put in under some blankets when I opened it up and I'd manually rewind it. It should still work, but buying film and having it processed can get expensive quick!

    Good luck hunter!

I used them for a few years. They took great pics, but it got really expensive having the film developed. I would try it for a while, and see what you think. And if you like it, (wich I am sure you will be hooked) then you could save up for a digital cam.

I think they way they eat batteries makes it more costly than a new digital.

The cost of developing the film plus the price of C or D batteries will get pretty expensive. If you want to get into trail cams, my suggestion would be to try ebay. You can catch some decent deals on trail cams. After you develop a couple rolls of 35mm, you will be wanting to switch anyway.

Tell you what hunter97, I'm replacing one of my Bushnell Trophy Cams because it's been acting erratic. Some times it works, sometimes it doesn't. PM your contact info, and I'll ship it too you. All you'll need is an SD card and some batteries. It'll be better than messing with that 35mm. Let me know.
