Maybe the indoor downhill skiing? Maybe to visit the world's tallest building? View from said building, the burj khalifa: Probably wasn't because she wanted to dress like a muslim woman.. but she did say the mosque was breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe it was to drive around like a maniac in the desert? (my mom once got caught driving her firebird 125 mph.....) or sand sledding? I don't think was the camel's either. She said it was bony and uncomfortable. I think I've narrowed it down to this: Bedouin style hookah bars!
By the smile on your mothers face in that last picture, I'm going to say that's not tobacco in that hookah.

Great pictures. That metropolitan area is really something. It looks brand new.......probably built from oil money.
Other than the crime rate, it's arguably the best place in the world to live. It has everything in terms of resources and climate.

My favorite aunt and uncle went over there a few years ago to drive big rigs before he drove off into a hole that the truck in front of him had made when it set off a land mine... (The land mine wasn't in Dubai) Said it was the most beautiful place on earth, and they'd move back there permanently if they could.
