Man I tell ya, im getting hooked on the bowfishing again after a 15 year dry spell. after buying the new AMS reel, vs my OLD Bear spool real, and using a recurve now vs a compound has got me hooked to say the lease. I went again today, shot two decent carp. I wanted just one more before calling it a day because it was scortching hot. So the last fish i shot was another three footer, I dead centered him and the fight was on. after getting him to calm down i slowly drug him to shore just to have him peel more line as he touched the bank OK, I got him and me calmed back down, drug him to the bank again, and as i reached to try and get him ashore he flipped out of the water making me loose my balance, next thing i know im sitting on my butt in the water Indian style with this Hugh fish's head stuck under my legs and his tail up toward my head with me trying to hang on :D Did i mention my arrow had now came out . He thrashed, I lost him once, rebounded my grip and as he thrashed again, I lost him Well that puts two three footers that got away the last two times i have went. I HAVE TO GE A GAFF, and im going to make one before i go again. Minutes after getting my ass kcked by a fish, he left me wet muddy and tangled. Still had fun even though only getting two
Heh.. Should have had video. Saturday night at the tourny I shot a gar and when I dropped it into the barrel it went ballistic and squirted up out of the tub and stuck it's head right up the leg of my shorts. Having a thrashing toothy gar with it's head stuck up your shorts gets your attention. (BTW, those are both smallmouth buffs your holding. ) Oh, and nice shirt!

Bow Fishing is a Blast!!! Falling in the water and get crap all over yourself is part of the fun. I've been covered in eggs,mud,scales and love it. Thats my favorite style hunting hat! Rick James - It would take ALLOT to beat that vid! Im cracking up right now just thinking about it!!!!:D
