You might want to add some more water to the pool. It doesn't look deep enough yet.

    Shed Preparation:

Had to move the 12'x4' compost bin as it would be too close to the shed ...

Here is the big lump o' shtuff :D
    [IMG]

it was in 3 sections so I changed it to 2 sections so I an get the bucket in there to turn it and I moved it to the back by the compost makers ;)

Ground is still too wet to till and remove the topsoil where the site is....I'll give it another day or two...

Not sure if it constitutes a "shed," but it's all I have :)

I just finished mine last week. It was four years in the making.

Phase one was the 12' x 24' standard shed. Looks like the ones you buy, but it's built like a house. Studs, joists and rafters on 16" centers and such.

Phase two (two years later) was a 16' x 24' add on giving us two 12' x 12' run-in stalls for the horses along with a 4' overhang.

Phase three (this year) was another 16' x 24' add on for round bale storage and tractor parking. I graveled this one.

Now I have a covered area that is 44' x 24'. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint it now or let the new add-on fade to match. I like the weathered wood look.

That's not a shed by any stretch of the imagination, so it doesn't qualify for this thread.

Is that a house that looks like a barn or is it a barn that looks like a house? I can't tell. :D

    I need some help here....

I am putting a much of washed #2 and #1 gravel down as a base....9" deep, 3" of it will be above grade...I will rent a tamper to settled the gravel.

    2 questions...

    1. Does this sound like a good base for an area that can be soggy in the spring?

    2. Tractor guys....When I dig the topsoil up and remove it, should I use the tiller and bucket, the rear blade and bucket, or just the bucket?

1 - that base should be good as long as it's well tamped- great drainage properties as you know...we did similar to this with a wood shed at my dad's we built in a very soggy...like year round soggy....patch of his yard...worked great...i should add we went a little higher than ground level with the stone as well

2 - I would use the rear blade and bucket I think.....maybe the tiller and bucket.....one of those two anyway....maybe both

I tilled up a 19'x 27' area yesterday and again today.... tomorrow I will use the rear blade to pull it forward and the bucket to scoop up the topsoil and start a bee friendly bed between the trees in the top view

Well the rain finally let up enough for me to dig this out ... it was mostly clay so it was a bear to do...had to use the bucket...

8 yard shot.... i don't. Think so, but since it is a 2 story it can double as a tree stand... :D
