I'm feeling pretty sick. My 2nd hunt on this particular buck and there he Is minutes before legal shooting light expires at 30 yards. He makes quick time In getting closer to me and I draw my recurve back and let an arrow fly at 12 yards or so and hit him high. In 24 years of bowhunting and the last 15 of those years hunting only with a recurve I have never wounded a deer, tomorrow morning will tell me If this streak continues. It happened so quickly, not sure what I did wrong but It looks like he's hit above the spine In the loins. Took him about 250 yards and called It quits for the night, plan on calling neighbors tomorrow to let them know chances are I'll be crossing on to their land. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure It's this buck that I got pictures of a week or so ago, I saw that he was very wide and had a white colored rack and my mind was made up so I took my eye's off of the rack. Chances are I will not get this buck but ya never know I guess.
My god Steve, best of luck to ya! If i wasnt hundreds of miles away i would be there in a heartbeat to track.
Man, that adds up to a restless night. Hope you find closure in some way, either in a BBD or a live sighting later on.
Oh man Steve, praying hes down right now, I know how bad you wanted this guy. What kind of blood did u have tonight? Pretty sparse? Shoot him at your scrape tonight?
Steve, depending on what time you plan on doing the tracking, I could make the drive to help you out, if needed. In fact, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I only have 1 class tomorrow 11-1250, let me know bud. Give me a call/text anytime if you need me!
oh man shultzy i am prayin for yah brother....maybe you can slip through early in teh am and catch him in a bed
Oh my..... I feel for you right now. I know you have to be down and out right now. Hopefully you got under the spine. If not that deer will live to see another day. That is a brute.
i feel ya buddy. take a look at my thread...that should make u feel some what better. good luck to ya!
Take your time and keep your eyes up ahead, you might surprise yourself. Take your gps and turn it on bread crumb and just go about your search and at the end if you've had no luck, it will show you any areas that you might have missed. Good luck Steve.
Good luck in the morning Steve. I hope your streak continues. Just remember Christines thread from a week or so ago, don't give up and you never know, it might be a better hit than you think it was. WE wanna know what that buck scores.
I just saw this---come on Steve! Slow it down today, get fueled up with some coffee and dip , and find that big boy!
Steve, if you think you have a kill shot on him. Don't forget about dogs, are they legal in your state? I can get a list around for you. I suddenly have that pit feeling along with you. Best of luck even though I'm sure your there now. I pray for the best outcome dead or alive.
