Me too. I'll give them a try. This will be the first time I've ever shot mechanicals. what the heck. If I don't like 'em I can always schange back.

I shot a small mule deer buck in MT. First animal with a mechanical ever and it was a 2-blade Rage. I must say, it was pretty impressive. That deer didn't go 50 yards. Granted he would have died with any broadhead as I hit both lungs and the heart, but as soon as that arrow impacted you could see the monster hole appear and blood poor out. Nasty little things. The mule deer my dad shot in CO went a total of 33 yards. These are the two shortest tracking jobs we have ever had.

I'm actually thinking of snagging a pack for my Dad, as he'll be hunting with me this year for the first time in the deer woods if we can get him set up soon enough... Got a new 60-lb. Liberty on its way for him right now.

Scott, They are truly devastating on animals. Nuff said there.

I'm still using Snypers, Rage's originator. It's only 1.5" to Rage's 2"s but man what a hole. I've taken 7 deer with them, WOW....

From the sounds of last year, you hit high enough that not even the rage's would have helped. I think the buck would have just been left with a bigger scar.

What do you consider a high power setup? My father is shooting 62 pounds, arrow weight 386, speed 270fps if that helps at all. Mine is just higher poundage and thus speed but same arrow.
