With Daniel Snyder as the owner of the Redskins, we are a joke. The guy is never going to leave, so I have been seriously considering "shopping" for a team. The constant stupid decisions made in Washington are mounting each year, progressively destroying a once proud franchise. I have been a Redskins fan coming on 25 years now, but the time might be right to jump ship considering the leadership.

6 playoff appearances (about to be 7) in the last decade, 6 super bowl championships. Won 6 of 7 appearances in the super bowl, solid and loyal ownership, and one of the most hated teams in the NFL:tu:

That purple team you have listed there, though is a good choice.;) They play a lot like the Steeler's, and they are ALWAYS tough.

I love the way the Steelers play MGH. That is the kind of team that I want to root for each year. That, and I played with the Steeler's head coach in college so I kind of have a connection. But I don't want to jump on anyone's bandwagon just because they are winning now.

Very cool! He seems like a very down to earth coach, but then again, I don't really know him. How was he as a teammate?

I am a pretty hard guy to impress (not due to ego, just I don't get caught up in hype), BUT he was an excellent teammate, motivator, and he inspired everyone each game. Tomlin had dang near a 40 inch vertical leap, not kidding. I also played with(same class) and am fraternity brothers with the current Eagles D-Coordinator, Sean McDermott. Weird that we had so many guys move on to bigtime positions from a relatively small college.

Tomlins a good guy I think. While he was the defensive coordinator here he did a great job. There has been a good number of coaches that the Vikings have hired on that later went on their own to win SB's as head coaches.

Besides Ray Lewis I like the Ravens franchise. That guy got away with some pretty nasty stuff If you ask me. I don't care for him. Their a hell of a team again this year though.

So what are you gonna do when the Skins turn it around next year and start winning? I say stick it out. :)

Winning is not what it is all about to me Finch, it is how a team plays that matters to me. And the Redskins have been playing terribly for over a decade, with no end in sight.

I have never understood how someone can switch teams, not saying it is right or wrong;)

I have been a Baltimore Orioles fan since I was a kid, they have sucked for the last 20 plus years:( I have been a loyal Chicago Blackhawks fan since I was five with a strong love for the Washington Capitals. The Chicago Bulls have been my basketball team and the Packers my football team. The Baltimore Colts deserted my home turf leaving me with the gateway to being a Packers fan since my Dad almost made the team, but I have never deserted a team because they suck.

Why did you become a Washington Redskins fan to begin with?

Regardless of how bad a team is I can still remember meeting Earl Weaver as a kid and seeing his Tomato plants behind the outfield fence or the arm hair standing experience I get everytime I go to a Blackhawks game and they flash old clips of Stan Makita or Bobby Hull. Hell last night we had Chris Chelios night and welcomed him back. I guess what I am saying is that I see my teams as decades of ups and downs with the anticipation that the next season will bring greatness. Many gave up on the Blackhawks over the last decade or two and being at game five of the cup last year erased any frustration I have had over the years;)

I understand your frustrations and say this, if you have to pick another team rock the "Green and Gold" If you can stick it out, you have had a favorite for years and they need your support:throw:

This from a loyal Hockey fan that put up with the worst team owner in the history of professional sports for decades:mad:

Raceway, I became a Redskins fan bc I moved to the area. I am a loyal person so sticking with a team is natural for me even in rough times. Now if I believe Daniel Snyder is not going to relinquish the reins on the Redskins in my lifetime then I need to make a decision. I can switch teams b/c well, I can. I want to root for a team that symbolizes what I stand for when it comes to sports....toughness, loyalty, putting team above yourself, etc. AND the Redskins have not shown that for nearly ten years.

How did the Redskins take it when you broke the news? :D

LOL in all seriousness, this sport is for fun not about, well, seriousness. Root for a team that's fun to watch. You can always want your local team to win and still have fun watching other teams.

I personally never understood why peeps from one area root for a team from another area .... I live in BUFFALO ... our football team blows, but I am still and always will be a Bills fan ...

Now if I moved to Pittsburg, I would be a Steelers fan first ... now they are my second favorite team ...

but in the grand scheme of things ... none of it really matters ... like someone said ..it's fun ...if it goes to the point of making you miserable and your beating the wife and kicking the dog ... your priorities are frigged up ...

So my vote id for you to stick it out, Brett .... if a BILS fan can, so can you :D

I'm a fair weather Rams fan. I watch them when they're good, and I have a hard time watching them when they're not. I think most of the St. Louis area is this way.

Deep down, I'm still a Cowboys fan though. Before St. Louis had a team, the Cowboys were my favorite.

Also don't get me wrong I like the Texans but I certainly don't loose any sleep over them

Tembry, I am anything but serious about football. I am just sick of the Redskins and the negative culture that has developed here in Washington. I don't live and die with anything sports related. But I am being serious about potentially switching teams. I really like the Skins but they are not showing any heart, toughness, or putting team about above individual performances.

Maybe I will give them one more year. I don't lose sleep about anything sports related, trust me, it ain't that serious.

Personally I like how shanahan is shaking things up in washington, I'd bet money that in 2-3 years people are going to start paying attention to the washington.

I will never jump ship. Redskins all the way till I die. Don't like Snyder for a penny, he is another Jerry Jones IMO. It sucks we havn't had a QB since Thiesman and he wasn't the greatest either but this team will make the SB again sometime in my lifetime if I live a normal life expectency. It's a shame, here it is Dallas week and you don't even hear a mention of that in the news. Oh how it used to be. I can still feel ol RFK rocking the stands during that playoff game with Dallas. Nope, never jump ship, not me.
Now if the Ravens make the playoffs I will pull for them simply because they are local but they will never be my team of choice. REDSKINS BABY.
