I am probably not following the rules, I like shooting these broadheads!

Been shooting all week with 3 broadheads. I figure with Bear and Turkey season just around the corner I better be shooting what I will be killing with. I am using my Yellow Jacket Broadhead Target and I've been moving around on the target and shooting the 5 white dots on the block to keep from buggaring up the arrows.

How much broadhead shooting do you guys all do? How close to season? I'll use my flat file (same as I use on my chain saw rakers) to resharpen these Zwickey broadheads. Should be able to hunt with them as long as they are sharp, I'd think anyway?

As long as you resharpen them to shaving sharp before hunting, practice all you want with them. On my set ups my Zwickey's shoot just as well as my field tips, so I'll take a few practice shots for confidence and that's all.

I was doing my best last night to tear up my Rinehart with several different heads. I shot snuffers, 2 blade Magnus' and Outback XLs trying to determine what I'll be shooting at birds 2 weeks from tomorrow. Thats all I'll be shooting between now and the end of turkeyseason. BTW, I decided to go with the Snuffers. They shot the best and I have 6 of them, 3 for practice and 3 to hunt with.

The only time I shoot field points Is for traditional shoots usually and also now at these Vegas 3 spots. Otherwise It's broadheads only the entire year.

I don't use the same broadheads/arrows that I practice with for hunting. My hunting broadheads/arrows get spin tested and as long as they spin true just like my practice set ups there good to go.

It's like VA said.. My field points and my Zwicky's pretty much shoot the same. I usually set-up enough arrows with broadheads to fill my bow quiver. I will shoot each arrow until I'll completely satisfied that it's perfect.. Once that's complete that 6 arrows gets sharpened for the hunt.

Making arrows and sharpening broadheads is an important part of the pre-hunt ritual for me. I've done it so long the hunt wouldn't feel the same without it..

The rest of the year I'm mostly shooting field points, judo's or blunts.. I do like hunting those tree rats with flu-flu's and blunts.

Thanks guys for the input, I wont have any problem getting them sharp, I sharpened a couple the night before after shooting them a few days.. shaved the hair off my arm. Yeah my zwickeys fly excellent, its probably just me but I like how well my arrows fly with them on over fields tips..

Good luck with those heads Tx.. I bought some snuffers last spring and like how they fly as well, but I like sharpening the Zwickey eskimos better and they are cheaper! LOL So I a going with them..

I do more B-head shooting trad wise than with my compound.

AS turkey gets closer I'll shoot em a little more. If I can start bouncing back & forth without the blades being a distraction, I'll shoot heads less.
