It wouldn't be typical of Jerry Jones to not pick up one of the controversial players in the draft.....

You're a fan of the Denver picking Tebow in the 1st round? Why? Did you not see the guy at the senior bowl?

Tebow was an incredible college player in the right system, he might make me eat my words, but Tebow will never be anything special in the NFL and was not worthy of a 1st round pick.

Dez Bryant is a monster though, Jim. A freaking monster.

I am a fan of Tebow, not the pick in the first round. I am rooting for him. You know how many guys they raved about prior to the draft that failed miserably? You just never know about a guy. Not only was he a winner in college, but he tested off the charts physically, the best strength/speed/jump workouts by a quarterback, ever. He is a physical stud, and if he does not make it at QB, he will play TE or H-back...I said it years ago that he probably will be a different position in the NFL. He is too good of a physical/mental specimen to not be playing in the NFL, he is a winner.

IMO, Dez Bryant was the BEST prospect in the entire draft. I thought he was the best college WR as Sophomore, even better than Crabtree.

Like I said, I am a Tebow fan.

Yeah, he is definitely an elite athlete, but you don't draft projects at different positions in the 1st round.

I liked Tebow as a player in college as well, but I did find his act quite annoying.

I know and I'm excited the Boys picked him. But, we always have to have someone with controversy/baggage on the team. I'm not that worried about it though. He wasn't doing drugs, or hookers, or getting DWI's........he was working out with Deion Sanders. I have heard he is a little cocky and has somewhat of an attitude. Then again that may not be a bad thing. Hopefully Bryant will come out, work his butt off and make us a better team. I have a feeling he is going to be our new deep threat (like Roy was suppose to be:rolleyes:)

Did you see the guy Green Bay picked up? Like the annalist said last night, he looks like a Packer. He's one big corn-fed dude! Bet Caleb was excited to see that

I'll never be able to fathom how someone could not root for a PERSON like Tim Tebow. A guy who consistently puts other ahead of himself.

I hope he does really really really well.

As a diehard Cowboys fan, I think we got the best athlete in the draft. Dez B will do big things in Big D, I think.

Vito you might be correct! I see Tebow as a Chris Cooley from the Redskins type....smart and strong enough to split the coverage, and able to beat most LB's to the flat. Tebow is fast, strong, and smart. If we did not know anything about Tebow and just saw his stats in college, his teammates opinions of him, and his personal strength/speed workouts...then people would be WOW! Instead, they would rather root for a dirtbag college player with big diamond earrings in both ears and wearing a $10,000 suit.

I am a fan of Tebow wether he "succeeds" or not.

Big Tebow fan as well...don't give a hoot if he should have went in 1st round or not - but he did, and he wouldn't have slid much farther.

...I'll be watching Broncos games a little more closely...

Go Bears! (oh wait, we didn't get to pick anybody last night)

With the QB's in the Denver system, I think Tebow will get every opportunity to prove that he is indeed a QB. Hard not to like a kid like him, I wish him well.

I love Tebow. He might not have the perfect mechanics for the NFL, but he will sell jerseys and tickets. It's a business boys.

One game and your criticizing him already? His work ethic and leadership will earn respect from others I believe on his team. Give him time to learn a new system and with his hard work ethic he just might make a go of It. He kinda reminds me of Jim Harbaugh or maybe even a Steve Young type. I hope like hell he proves everyone wrong, I'm rooting for him as well.

    I agree Willie!!!

Did you hear what Steve Young said about his mechanics? I loved It and I hope he listened to him.

His first game where he took snaps from under center he was absolutely horrible and was pinned as the worst QB at the senior bowl.

And I doubt his "RaRa" team spirit attitude and constant preaching is going to earn him respect from 10 year veterans this year.

I'm not hating on Tebow. He is an athlete. I'm hating on him being selected in the 1st round. He should have gone in the 3rd or 4th round. You don't draft H-backs in the 1st round.

People do say WOW to his college accomplishments. But NFL teams want to see skills that transfer to the next level. His teammates' opinions, college record, and physical skills might be the only reason he was drafted at all. It certainly isn't because he currently has the tools to be a star QB in the NFL. Texas Tech QBs in recent years have had some phenomenal stats, but you don't hear about them come draft day.

I'm not rooting for or against him. Makes no difference to me if he's successful or not. From his preferential treatment in high school to the constant media attention leading up to the draft...its all just getting a little old to me.

Not sure where you were going with this. It seems like EVERYONE is rooting for Tebow. People are only questioning if he can play QB (or any position for that matter) in the NFL. If people didn't love this guy so much, we would hardly hear about him leading up to the draft. Remember Tim Couch? Main difference between Couch and Tebow is Tebow's love for attention. Sure he is a media darling, but you cannot deny Tebow loves the attention. The way he announced his return for his senior year shows that. Couch just went about his business.
