Will, man what beautifull pics  great job with the camrea  Your not going to believe this but last summer my wife had told me that she had seen a full curl ram in our front yard here in Indiana  I told her that she was seeing things, she said that at first she thought it was a Deer because of the size until shee got a better look at it. I laughed at her  several days later im eating breakfast and looked out the front window to see the dam thing running across the neighbors front yard   have not seen it since. It looked exactly like the ones in the photos. must have been an escapee, it would be neat to see it from the stand  :d

    Trev,

The odds....hmmmm. You will never know exactly until you roll the dice. It takes a minimum of three preference points to get into the hunt. So, you are three years out for sure. After that, anyone, let me repeat, anyone can draw the tag. I drew my sheep tag after four years of applying. I drew my goat tag after six years. I drew a second goat tag nine years later (in Colorado, if you're successful harvesting either of these beasts, you then must wait five years before you can re-apply for another tag). Your chance of drawing continues to climb with every year you're unsuccessful. With that being said, my younger sister has been unsuccessfully applying for both sheep and mt goat tags for 20 years. She must be lucky in love....

S11 and S12 for rams. G13 and G1 for goats. Apply for each in that order. 15% of all the tags go to non-residents automatically.

    Dan,

A ram in Indiana...I wouldn't doubt it. He was likely a strappy fellow in lust and has had his hinny handed to him too many times. I imagine he isn't getting a lot, but what he gets he doesn't share! Lol. The things a young guy will do for love.

We had a Central Barren Ground Caribou killed here by a car a few years back. Seems his migration compass was broken. I cannot wait for the wolves and the hogs to move in...providing we're allowed to kill em!

Seven to nine years Matt. At four to five they are 5/8 curls. At 5 to 7 they are 3/4 curls. The ram in the photo above is seven years old-starting his eighth year.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I WILL draw a CO goat AND sheep tag before I die....it may be in 30+ years, but it'll happen.

I agree that it happens soon all the time, I was talking with a guy a while back who drew his tag on his 4th year (first year in actual draw) two years ago. An S32 tag at that.

The odds are discouraging, but they are ZERO unless you enter. My problem comes in when you see the $1600+ tag you must front for each, and I have no where near $3300 laying around to loan to the state of CO for a few months each year. That is why I said it'll be down the road before I even begin entering.

Mtn Goat is WAY up the list on my dream animals, top 3 easy.

You are one heck of a photographer. How close were you to the sheep?
