Sunday morning around 4 am I was driving home from a night fishing trip with my brother when I was hit by another vehicle. This guy had to have been on something because he tried to pass me on the left while I was making a left turn onto the off ramp of an over pass. To make it worse he took off and left the scene before I ever had a chance to do anything.

It happened so fast that I still am unsure what really happened. All I remember about it is that I turned left to get on the Interstate and this a-hole slams the side of my boat at the rear wheel. When I looked in the rear view mirror I could see this late model jeep and my boat up in the air. It was crazy… The jeeps momentum carried it all the way down the side of the boat but stopped short of getting into the back of my Dodge. I immediately pulled off on to the berm just in time to see this jerk restart his Jeep and take off!

Another motorist that was following and saw the accident stopped to check on us. He said that he saw the guy pull out to pass and was just dumb struck because he could see my turn signal and though WTF is that guy doing. He also said that he had seen the guy in a gas station just minutes earlier and the guy was out of it!

I did a complete 360 of the boat, and to my amazement the only damage was the rear fender where I think he first hit me. It was bent up against the hull of the boat. There were tire marks and small scratches down the hull of the boat and along the rail of the trailer.

I called and reported the wreck. The guy that stopped was kind enough to wait so I had him as a witness for the accident report.

When I got home a long hour and half later I went in and kissed my sleeping wife, said a small thank you to the big guy upstairs for watching over me, and went to check to see if I needed to change under wear! :(

    Damn that's scary.
Main thing is your not hurt.
Hopefully that gas station has surveillance cameras that may have caught a plate or a picture of the guy.

Glad you are alright, and have your priorities straight. Thank God and not to bad on the damage.

Thankfully you guys are okay. Hopefully they caught the guy. I'm sure he had to have damage to his vehicle!

That sucks. Lots of idiots out there these days. It's a shame no one was able to get his plate number or anything else to help track him down.

Glad you're ok, I have a low tolerance for people like that. I hope he gets nailed.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes.

I don't hold out much hope of them catching the guy. If they do it will be his word against mine and the witness.

And the witness live 4 hours away...
