That would be my main focus. Like has been said there are a lot of variables. As you eluded to a lot depends on the position you are in your life. Stability and not rocking the boat is a good thing these days. On the flipside so is risk/reward. Depends on if you're at a point where you can chance it and have a fall back plan. I've passed up opportunities during my life (some kick myself for ... some glad I backed out) based on that particular moment in my life if I felt I could take the chance or not. I'm actuallly in a similar circumstance as we speak. Tough decisions for sure, but I'd do my homework (as I know you will), have a plan B,C and D. Best of luck on what you decide.
I'll probably give my 2 weeks notice on Monday, but I'm pretty sure my current employer will just tell me to pack up and leave once I brief my boss on all my projects. It's pretty common for employers to not honor 2 weeks notice when the employee is moving to a competitor.
Well...I kinda want them to let me leave earlier for my 2 weeks. That gives me a 2 week paid vacation
