We sold the buck growl (not the hyper growl) at the shop I worked at. Probably the easiest to use call I've ever seen and it makes some great sounds. I thought the construction of the calls was some of the best I've seen too.

I've never blown the hyper growl, but structurally it looks to be just as well designed. I'll have to stop at a shop and see how well this one works.

I've had two MAD buck growl calls and liked them until they gave up on me. The Primos Buck Roar has found a place in my pack and is there to stay. I don't (or care to) use the growl/roar feature. I just like producing very loud & deep grunts. You can do it with both calls but the MAD eventually turns into a duck call. For that reason, I won't try this new call. Its the same as the original but with the added feature (which may be useful) but won't be for me.

I agree with Finch. I like the Primos version better. A friend had the MAD version and it got "ducky" if you blew too hard.

I was referring to the original Buck Growl. AND don't get me wrong....I LIKED this call. Actually, I carried two in my pack when it got really cold because the reeds would stick pretty quickly. Then they both turned into duck calls without me even blowing hard. Don't ask me how but they transformed. :)

No problems with the Primos call though.

I'd really have to see this to believe it. Let us know how it works for you. If they could guarantee me that it wouldn't lock up, I'd consider giving it a try.
