For all you baseball fans out there... he finally hit his 600th home run. Only 8 others have done it and 3 of those are steriod babies. Thome is squeaky clean and voted the most friendly nice guy in baseball, tied with someone else I don't remember. Putting all his nieces and nephews through college. Hunter and outdoor freak Good for him.

It is a shame that there are going to be people who look at Thome and what he accomplished and have doubt in their mind, just because of the time he played in.

Thome is only the 8th player to ever become a member of the 600 HR club, and I believe only the 5th to not have his name linked to steroids at any time.

What really confuses me is that Jeter is the 28th man to have 3000+ hits, but he got an update every time he steps to the plate on ESPN, then when he breaks the record he gets a day long highlight of the hit, and finally an HBO special to document the events leading up to it. I understand that he is the first Yankee to have 3000 hits in the pinstripes, and that means a lot for that team and the market they play in. That was no way intended to be a slam at Jeter or at what he has done of his years in New York. He is one of the greatest players to ever play, and he plays the game the right way.

I just feel like Thome's accomplishments have been kind of pushed under the rug a bit.
