Hunting without a treestand?

    I've been hunting past few days without stand and have been stalking, very difficult to do, always get busted before I have a clear shot. I can generally get about 40 yards out before they are OUT... Saw 4 deer this morning, not 1 shot available..Treestand is easier and preferred, only stalking because I am waiting for an extra part in the mail for my stand.

    What I like about stalking is you can cover a whole lot of ground, plus, wandering around you can find new treestand location

    Never hunted from a blind, but have still hunted sitting up against a tree.

    My first bow kill was walk and stalk on a big warthog boar. I shot him from under fifteen yards. Walk and stalk is very challenging and requires the right conditions but in my opinion it is more exciting and rewarding.
