Hey guys, anyone know when the rut/pre-rut starts in Northern Wisconsin? I'm pretty new to this type of hunting!

It's prerut now, has been for some time. ;)

Define rut? Are you talking peak? Around the 15th of Nov, give or take a day or so, has been for more years than I can remember. Things will turn up a notch come Halloween. I'm on vacation the first two weeks of Nov, our last two weeks of our PA season. Our season starts this Saturday. Good luck and welcome to the forums.

Without being too detailed.. the pre-rut is now. Bucks will start cruising the last week of October and by the end of the first week of November.. get in the woods!

    Great advice.

I'm off those two weeks, as I am every year. ;-)

Ahhh I remember vacation....when you work--day stiffs struggle all year to get to a few measily days of "time-off" ...... :(:(
