Was wondering how many people have a problem hunting someone else's stands. Even with permission. I hunt on our land with my son, and now that I am retired I have a lot more time to hunt. Which means spending so much time out there, get tired of same old 8 different stands. He offered for me to sit in some of his. I just feel like if I got a nice buck, it wouldn't be the same as getting one out of a stand I set up. Any thoughts on helping me get my head straight on this. Thanks

Get a mobile setup and dont worry about hunting the same old stands again.

If your only option is stands that are placed, then thats a personal decision that you seemed to already answered.

I feel the exact same way. Every property I hunt I share with other people, and we all have agreements that we can hunt from each other's stands anytime we want. But I rarely do for the same reason you mentioned - it just doesn't feel the same. I want to do it on my own and not feel like I'm riding someone else's coattails.

The problem is if you have a stand in a good or hot spot and the right wind to hunt it, you often times don't have any other options. It's not like I'm going to hang my stand right next to theirs. So I will do it a handful of times each year, but I always feel weird. It's like wearing someone else's underwear.

Ok I get the “it’s not my stand theory this may help. When rolling craps dice remember the dice don’t know it’s you.
    Neither does the stand.
Don’t subscribe to it’s not invented here if it works.

Yea, I’m the same if I hunt a buddies property I wanna venture into my own area, and do my own scouting.
